J. L. DeGraffenreid & Sons was founded in 1944. It was a family owned corporation until 1973 when it was sold to Capitol Foods. Capitol later became Vincent Food Industries, Inc. In 1998 it was sold to D. G. Foods, LLC, and continues operation utilizing the same management team that has been in place since 1991.J. L. DeGraffenreid & Sons operates out of a state-of-the-art facility opened in 1988 and conveniently located within 2 miles of the U. S. Highway 65 exit from I-44 in Springfield, Missouri. The plant consists of 66,000 square feet constructed on a 28 acre site. The tank yard has more than 1200 fiberglass and plastic tanks capable of processing approximately 1,300,000 bushels, 65,000,000 pounds, of salt stock annually. The primary growing area for this facility is located in Southwest Missouri, approximately 50 miles from the plant. This assures top quality product with optimum freshness. The company is situated centrally and services most of the major metropolitan areas in the Midwest and in the Southeast coastal areas. DeGraffenreid is strictly a packer of Institutional and industrial pickle products and understands the unique requirements of these businesses. Because of this, DeGraffenreid is an authorized packer for many national chains and labels. J. L.
